1. What is a “rolling reservation”?
Rolling reservations are reservations that members have in the system and can be used again the moment one is completed. Each membership plan has a different amount allotted.
EX: The Freedom Plan gives you 4 rolling reservations. You can have 4 different reservations in the system at once, and when you complete one, it frees up to be reserved again.
4. Can I make reservations last-minute?
Absolutely! In fact, all members get UNLIMITED same day reservations. There is no restriction or penalties for booking same day.
7. Do I need to bring safety equipment?
No! Every FBC boat comes equipped with the necessary safety equipment required by the Coast Guard including, adult life jackets, flares, distress flag, marine radios, and more. The only thing we don’t provide is children life jackets, members need to bring one appropriate for their child.
10. How difficult is getting a boat reserved?
We have boats available at all locations all day long. Holidays & weekends are the busiest boating times, so using your “rolling reservations” to reserve boats during these times is the best strategy to maximize your boating. Boats are reserved to members same day on a first-come first-serve basis through our waitlist.
2. How much does it cost to join?
Joining Freedom Boat Club requires a 1x entry fee, as most clubs do. After that, depending on the membership plan you choose, there will either be a monthly (Freedom & Weekday) or a yearly (Seasonal) charge. Contact our Membership Executive to get exact pricing.
5. Can I join with family and/or friend to split the membership and cost?
Yes! We do have a Friends & Family membership plan. Contact our Membership Executive for exact pricing on this plan.
8. Do you provide water sports equipment?
Unfortunately, we cannot provide water sports equipment to members. These must be brought by the member or rented at the marina location.
11. How old are FBC Michiana boats?
We buy all of our boats brand new. Every year there will be new boats that enter the fleet, giving members a constant refreshed selection of boats to choose from!
3. How does this all work?
We are a full-service club. Meaning we take care of everything from A-Z for you, so you have more time to focus on actual boating! Simply make a reservation through the state-of-the-art reservation system and then show up to the dock! Our staff will have your boat ready to go before you arrive and will be waiting to assist you on your return. Our teams are committed to creating the red-carpet experience for all members!
6. What does it cost to add my spouse to the membership?
Nothing! FBC memberships cover you & your spouse. Let our Membership Executive know you would like to add your spouse when you are joining.
9. Is there a fee every time I use a boat?
No! As a member with FBC, you can use the boats as many times as you would like at no additional cost or limit. Fuel is the only thing you’ll be charged for when you use the club.
12. How do you track and charge for fuel?
All of our vessels have state-of-the-art GPS unit trackers that track fuel usage to the thousandth decimal. We write down the fuel amount before you depart and again when you return, and our system automatically figures the difference and charges the credit card you have on file. Say good-bye to pumping gas at the gas dock.
